BAYON, Cambodia and SSS

BAYON TEMPLE, CAMBODIA.
Late 12th or early 13th century. Stands out within Angkor Thom, the capital of King Jayavarman VII. Richly Khmer architecture with Buddhist faces everywhere.

Entering into Angkor Thom.

Outside Bayon temple.

Extensive and impressive bas relief on all walls within Bayon, each wall tells a story about Cambodia during that reign.

Endless carving of apsara dancers on all walls.

A trip not complete unless you see the real apsara dancers, seen here inside Bayon temple.

Shadow shots of Bayon.

Open theatre and story based on Bayon temple at night.

When you are in Cambodia, you shop here..Artisan d'Angkor..

Hop on over to Hey Harriet to see those wonderful collages and the rest of the shadows shooters.

Have a happy weekend everyone :D
