SHOPPING

I hope to be able to buy the following stuff for next week's celebration, though the cheongsam will be for the children as I probably have to lose at least ten kilos before I could even fit into one, let alone sit in it.

NURIN ALERT

I went for the Nurin Alert last Friday, met Kamal Afandi, Nuraina, Tembam and Jasni (Nurin Jazlin's uncle) and others as well. Nurin Alert is going full scale now and the recent abduction of Sharlinie has targetted a Nurin Alert indirectly. The committee now formed will be the Citizen for Nurin Alert or C4NA in short. Kamal is Malaysian's well known crime analyst, Nuraina is another well known celebrity blogger Group Editor of Tell Magazine, and Tembam is my favorite blogger. While both Tembam and I have great interest on Nurin Alert and missing children, she is the numero uno in blogging for this issue. I go to her daily on all updates on Nurin Alert, Sharlinie etc.

This is now dangereous time for Malaysia. Nurin's killers are still FREE and there doesnt seem to be a single lead to any capturing therm. Paedoephiles are almost repeat offender and there could be a strong chance that it could be the same killers that abducted Sharlinie. I really hoped not as I dread to even think of the consequences if Sharlinine is in these sickos' hands. 3 weeks has gone and there is still NO LEAD on Sharlinie. When a child goes missing, every seconds count and now 3 weeks, it is really saddening. Children will never be safe and they cannot be left alone.

Anyway, Chinese New Year is just round the corner and while I have a heavy heart on all the celebration while Ninis is still missing, we still have to celebrate no matter what. I see Ninie's picturre on all tolls, on the back of some taxis, outside the children's school and some lamp post and certainly she had the widest coverage ever. However, apart from the publicity, there is still not much help, she is still being captured and we still dont know if she is still alive or not.

While we had family outings and meals together, how is Ninie? What about her parents? The whole Malaysia is looking for her, will her abductors release her back to her family safely? How safe are my chidlren?

FAV BLOGS !

Ok, I got a couple of fav blogs that I visit daily. One is Cupcake Bakeshop by Chockylit all about my latest craze, cupcakes which I have been baking 2 -3 times a week, and 90% all sent to Emi's or Eli's friends at school. So, it's free fun sugary food for them and the kids loved it as it has their friends names written on it. Basically, it was for experimental purposes so, I needed some guinea pigs for them, anyway, they ate em' all, hard, soft, cold, warm, sweetend or not.

My second blog is flawless beauty and it's from a woman who blogs about all natural cosmetics, loved it but where the hell to get it? It's never sold here, but I like the natural stuff, eg. real avocado mask etc.

My third blog is My Marrakesh, and this you've got to see and read. It's about a family from USA building her own palace in Marrakesh, it's so awesome.

So, blogging is a great stress reliever too, especially when I am @ the office, long hours of paperwork that bores me to death, but gotta do it anyway.

SHARLINIE, 5 YEARS OLD, IS MISSING

I received a mail from Jasni AJ, he is the blog administrator and uncle of Nurin Jazlin, a 8 years old girl which was abducted for 27 days, raped, sodomised and murdered - body released in a bag @ shoplop. The mail was for me to attend the NURIN ALERT meeting which I am supposed to be a member. Just after 100 days, Sharlinie or Ninie was abducted, today coming to the 10th day and no solid leads on her whereabouts. My other blog features Nurin Alert fully but I am now slowing down and really no time. Maintaining a blog like this takes responsibilities as the public read what's being published and I've regular visitors. However, for my current fun-blog, my responsibility is to myself and at my whim and fancies, I have no pressure at all.

Anyway, I will probably sit on the Nurin Alert committee as it is supposed to champion for missing children. This is a very sickening trend in Malaysia - kidnapping children and raping them, or even murdering them too. I never let my kids out of my sight, except for my sicomel - Danial whom was lost for 1 hour outside his school, but that was not on purpose.

NurinAlert is modelled after AMBER ALERT in the USA. Amber Alert is named after Amber Hageerman and 8 year old child whom was also kidnapped, raped and murdered. In the US, they have so many laws to protect children, apart from Amber Alert, there's Megan's law whereby paedophiles and sex offenders are registered with the Police and everyone can check their profile, I sure want to know to know if my neighbours, drivers, staff or the tuition master was and is a sex offender before I send my kids there. Our system is still very loose and children are always the main target.

So, let's see how the committee will work on this. Our Datuk Sahrizat (women and family minister) has given the go ahead and said Yes to NurinAlert, and with Nini missing - the Cabinet have to approve of all the plans.

So, today's Saturday and weekend is here, more cleaning and taking care of the rabbits!! I think we'll let them roam around our garden, its been 3 days since any of us held them and they hop and jump around their cage whenever they see us. This weekend will be more baking of cupcakes and I'm trying out the Choc ganache - whatever the ganache means, and baking is not cheap, a stick of unsalted butter of good quality cost 11.90 plus others etc, easily RM20 - 30. actually, much cheaper to buy.

SCHOOL WOES

First day @ school - no problem.

4th day @ school - due to miscommunication, transporter was late for 1 hour, he wandered out of his school to a neighbour's school - La Salle, cried under the hot sun for 1 hour, until an secondary kid took him back to his own school's office.
5th day still ok.
Second week - pure disaster.
First day I had to chase him around the school, like chasing after a chicken ! He was unconsolable he was taken home.
Second day, I had to stay at the school from 7.30am till 12.50pm - not much fun!
3rd day, the teacher had to hold on to him and the guard closed the main gate. From my car, I saw him running with one shoe in his hand and being dragged back to clase later - heart wrenching !
4th day - today, still same old story, crying in school, followed us back to car twice, we had to threatened him of orphanage before dragging him back to class, being hold back by one of the male teacher.
I am still blur over why, must be the trauma of being lost !
He was so traumatized over these few episode that the 2 ringgit he had in his spiderman wallet since 4 days ago was not used. Other mothers told me he would come out of class and begged to use their handphone to call me or the father. He even begged one of the mother to take him back to his house. He's sort of a celebrity now the teachers had a meeting over him 'lost', all the guards know him, all the stay back moms and maids @ the canteen knows him, almost everyone knows him by name, both canteen operators know him, the transporters waiting for other children also know him - Danial the crybaby. So, I made friends with all the stay back moms and maids so they can have an eye on him when I'm not around and they are really helpful. No child cries, whine, scream or scurry around as much as him. Morning sure is hell for both him and us nowadays :(
Next week is into 3rd week and both hubs and me are scratching our heads over what to do !!
So, we keep our fingers and toes crossed !

MY NEW RED LAPTOP!!

...sorry if I sounded bragging..my I've got my new DELL XPS M1330 Vista running on 2 gig. My previous 1 year old Compaq was running on 512 MB, 1/4 of current speed. So when I decided for all the Managers to move over to laptops, and we had 3 other new ones, in shade of pink, blue and light green (ya..all females), I opted for the higher range in stunning RED and it came with a black casing, cost a bomb though.

So, I am working on optimum speed (sorry, if you are not lah) and life's less fun until you are working on a 2 G. I have been yearning for the Vista since a year ago and I vouch that Vista is cool, lots of additional cosmetic make up compared to the previous microsoft XP and uploading pictures in only seconds !!

your PC, time for a change hah ??

Pic @ The Curve

Danial had a haircut recently and I HATED it, it made him look like a samseng actually.
Anyway, hair's growing back slowly and we are all now getting used to waking up @ 6.00 am daily as all are in morning school. Luckily the kiddies have no problem getting up early, though have problem sleeping earlier @ night.
Yesterday, one of the rabbits, Cupcake, died and I had a fever. So, I was worried if I caught any 'disease' from the dead rabbit. So, I searched frantically on the net. Bad news is no much link between dead rabbits and human, good news is I found no news on dead humans due to rabbit disease.
Anyway, I feel real sluggish today and tummy is really upset. I blamed it all on the weight (highest and at it's peak) and sorely lack of exercise. So, i vow to really take up proper 'dieting' and start with my Cranberry juicing next Monday (hopefully) and more exercise. Anyone who sees my gym at home is surprised because it's an expensive piece of equipment and it cost a bomb because it's for professional use, and it's still SEVERELY under-used. So, it's in the room collecting dust and short of being used as a towel rack ! My thrice weekly morning jog with my neighbour has also been cancelled due to the kids morning classes, eating to the max, baking cupcakes, and NO EXERCISE. So, I know my sluggish system is due to all these, and when I sit, I feel the few layers of fats on my belly so it's a sure sign that something is not right.
So, I am not really obese but I am damn sure it's close to that! My Bangkok meeting trip is next month and I really want to lose at least 6 kilos for it. There are hardly any fat people in Bangkok, that and wanting to look nice for a 900 people conference - so vain, but good motivation to shed the excess spare tyres, and I have lots of it everywhere.
Maybe I should do a journo-blog on this? The last time I tried the Detox-Cranberry-protein diet, I lost 4 kilos in one week. Maybe, I can lose 8 kilos in 2 weeks? Haiya, dont dream la...

SHARLINIE, 5 YEARS OLD, IS MISSING

This child is missing since 9 January 2008, less than 48 hours before her missing, a 6 years old child was abducted for 3 hours and released unharmed later.

The Police failed miserably to rescue Nurin and still fail now for not solving her case, let's hope and pray this child will be saved on time.

Christmas-y feeling all over GOURMET MARKET !

backtracking to bangkok

OK, its going backwards to december 07, to my trip to Bangkok. I love Bangkok. I LOVE THE FOOD, its tomyam kung 2 times a day, I'd have it 3 times if possible but they dont serve for breakfast. This year, hubs and I went twice and the december trip was unplanned as "big boss" son got married at the Shang so he tagged along. I love Siam Paragon, its the MidValley or Pavillion of KL, very high end and expensive. Here's where I go for my knick knacks, scrapbooking stuff (anything but clothes as it's damn expensive). Outside Paragon department - dont dream about it unless you want to shop for Chanel and Hermes), but I love the GOURMET MARKET at basement. They have spread of foodstuff I've never seen before, even Cold Storage is nothing compared to this.

FIRST DAYS @ SCHOOL

So, my 2 girls were real enthusiastic over new school terms and I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they will do better this year.

Danial is at year 1 and in a different school. Today, due to a ms-information from the school, he waited one hour, crying, was wet and wandered out of the school compound, into another school - in short, he was lost. Luckily an elder child saw his badge and took him back to the school's office. He didnt remember any of our handphone numbers except his own name and class number. Anyway, father contacted school and transporter picked him up safely. However, that was a real scare. If someone had taken him, I couldnt even imagine what could happen. I was with him last week, he was kinda cool and happy. Must talk to the school teachers tomorow.
